Not-for-profits making $50,000 or less

Don't lose your tax-exempt status over a missed 990-N.

If your nonprofit brought in $50,000 or less, the IRS wants a short annual e-Postcard — not a full return. 990epost turns it into a five-minute checklist in plain English.

How it works

Three steps from "I have no idea" to filed.

01

Tell us about your nonprofit

Your legal name, EIN, and last year's gross receipts. Five plain-English questions, no tax forms.

02

We prepare the e-Postcard

Your Form 990-N is built and checked against current IRS eligibility rules before you review a single line.

03

File and keep your proof

One tap submits to the IRS. Your confirmation is saved so you can forward it to the whole board.

Who this is for

Built for the person who ended up in charge of the paperwork.

Food pantries, booster clubs, rescue groups, choirs, neighborhood associations — small organizations run at kitchen tables by people who never signed up to be the tax person. We keep the filing part short so you can get back to the work that matters.

Questions

For boards without an accountant

Do I really only file the e-Postcard?

If your gross receipts are $50,000 or less, the Form 990-N e-Postcard replaces the long return for most small nonprofits.

What happens if I skip a year?

Miss three years in a row and the IRS automatically revokes your tax-exempt status. That is exactly what we exist to prevent.

What if my receipts go over $50,000?

Then you'll need a full Form 990 or 990-EZ instead. We flag that during setup so you never file the wrong form.

Do I need any accounting background?

No. You answer questions in everyday language and we translate them into the IRS filing.
